FAQ's

Q: Do I have to fill out the user profile before I can post?

A: Yes, You must fill out the user profile before you are able to post click HERE to fill out the form. Make sure your email address is included.

Q: Will my e-mail address be automatically displayed with a posting? Do I have to change an option in the Edit Bio so that it is not displayed?

A: No & No, displaying the email address in your posting has nothing to do with the Edit Bio. Your email address is in the database, and private. It will not be displayed on your postings at any time.

Your E-Mail address will NOT be displayed when you enter it into the "E-Mail Address box", this is only for notifying you when someone responds to your message. You will have to make sure that the box labeled" If you'd like e-mail notification of responses, please check this box" is checked.

The only way your email will show up is if you add it into the message body of the message.

In Edit Bio, Your email will not be displayed in anyway, you can add a hyperlink and a hyperlink picture to your profile if you wish up to a max of 10kb.

Q: Why don't the messages show as read on the board when I view the thread in the frame?

A: You won't get the messages showing as read in the board until the board is refreshed. That is the whole idea of frames, really. One of the major drains on the bandwidth was the constant refreshing of the board, and constantly rewriting that information.

Q: What are "cookies"? Should I be concerned about "cookies"? Is this site using cookies?

A: Yes, the new forum board does use cookies.

Your browsers' software creates small amount of space on your hard drive to keep these preference listings, or "cookies". When you visit a site your browser checks to see if you have any predefined preferences (cookies) for that server. If you have a cookie from that server, your computer sends the cookie to the server along with the request for a web page. A cookie can only "get" information you have input.

You can turn cookies "on", "off" or "ask before accepting" options, on most late version browsers. This can be done on Netscape, for example, by going to Edit-->Preferences-->Advanced-->Cookies (select your option). Similarly in the MS IE browsers. On the new IE 6.0, you will have to ensure that cookies are selected on.

Q: Why doesn't the board show the correct number of posts and "NEW" posts since my last visit?

A: If you last visit read the messages are still showing up as NEW, this is an issue of your cookies because of the upgrade to the new version of board. You need to kill you cookies using the cookie killer. Follow those instructions, and things should be correct for the visit. The date of your last visit is no longer displayed on the board. On the new IE 6.0, you will have to ensure that cookies are selected on.
